Horticulture: Instructor

Ron Whitworth (Luther Unit) is a horticulture professor with the Lee College Huntsville Center, sharing his knowledge of the various fields of horticulture with the students of Lee College since January 2020. He has a bachelor of science in horticulture/crop science with a minor in science from Sam Houston State University, and has more than 25 years of work experience in commercial/residential landscaping and golf course construction and maintenance.

Scooter Langley (Ellis Unit) is an experienced educator and administrator with nearly 18 years at Lee College. He serves as technical chair for workforce and technical education programs and as a horticulture instructor, where he leads hands-on training in greenhouse management, aquaponics, nursery production, and sustainable agriculture. In addition, he serves as Director of Research in Horticulture for Friends of Lake Livingston, partnering with Texas Parks and Wildlife on shoreline restoration and aquatic habitat projects. Scooter holds a bachelor of science in horticultural science from Sam Houston State University and is committed to student success, workforce development, and environmental stewardship.
